The International Wildlife Film Festival is powered by volunteers and interns who generously give their time and energy to INSPIRE and MOTIVATE viewers to make a difference in their communities across the globe.

The 2017 festival is just around the corner and will take place April 15-22, 2017. Internships will begin and January and end in April.

All interns will receive an All-Access pass to IWFF 2017 and our eternal THANK YOU!

Intern positions fill quickly—please register at your earliest convenience to find a position that will fit your interest, skills and availability.

 

INTERN DESCRIPTIONS

IWFF LABS INTERN

  • Acting as escort on field trips during the week of IWFF
  • Help create and maintain materials for IWFF Lab participants – this might include formatting documents, making copies, stuffing bags
  • Brainstorm creative ideas for Lab content and scheduling – such as researching curriculum, team building exercises and ways to ignite creativity
  • Interact with venue partners on details of event management – ensuring venue or location is aware of group arrival, perhaps getting to location early to ensure everything is prepared for the Lab experience, location upkeep

Helpful Qualities:

  • Listening, driving, interpersonal skills, prompt, open and helpful

DELEGATE LIAISON INTERN

  • Research filmmakers and help find community connections for their film –audiences that would be interested in the filmmakers topic, reaching out to that group and inviting them to the movie
  • Creating and managing materials for filmmakers, special guests, visiting scientists, etc. This includes information about Missoula and IWFF
  • Helping with the travel and lodging of visiting filmmakers and special guests – knowing where your assigned guest is staying, making sure they have what they need
  • Befriending filmmakers, going to coffee, picking them up from the airport and help them acclimate to Missoula
  • Escort them to special events and parties

MEDIA INTERN – VIDEO PRODUCER & EDITOR

  • Filming, producing and editing short videos in promotion of and during IWFF
  • Managing media and file uploads to various social media sites
  • Operate and maintain proper levels and calibrations on cameras, audio equipment and other production equipment
  • Add logos, links and other add-ons to help promote videos

Helpful Qualities:

  • Proficient in DSLR cameras and audio gear, knowledgeable of general video production practices, able to deliver projects on time, good and frequent communicator 

MEDIA INTERN – SOCIAL MEDIA

  • Assisting with the digital presence of IWFF across all social media platforms and website
  • Help build buzz in the digital space by using best of social media practices
  • Researching and implementing fun and engaging social media plans

Helpful Qualities:

  •  Experienced using social media platforms, know good/appropriate photos and writing, able to comprehend and communicate the personality of IWFF, timely project delivery, good and frequent communicator 

MEDIA INTERN – GRAPHIC ART

  • Assist in creating high quality graphics for videos, web, print and marketing campaigns
  • Design strong, out of the box graphics to appear on the blog and in social media
  • Brainstorm creative ideas using the brand personality of the IWFF for sharing on the web
  • Assist the video production team and Press Coordinator with marketing and additional projects as necessary

Helpful Qualities:

  • Experienced in Adobe, Photoshop and Illustrator or Canva, ability to work independently, able to comprehend and communicate the personality of IWFF, timely project delivery, good and frequent communicator

GREEN TEAM INTERN

  • Focusing on the sustainability efforts of IWFF – recycling, zero waste, alternative print program ideas
  • Identify potential sponsors or partnering groups for effort
  • Brainstorm carbon neutral pathways for the festival moving forward and identify carbon credit options for 2017

  •   Interested in sustainability, listening, interpersonal skills, prompt, open and helpful
