Chelsea Jackson

Chelsea Jackson is an award-winning documentary filmmaker with a particular interest in vérité editing and story development. Her recent editing work includes “Welcome Strangers”, which premiered at Big Sky Documentary Film Festival in 2020. “The Love Bugs”, shortlisted for a 2019 IDA Award for Best Short Documentary, has received five Audience Choice Awards and one Jury Award for Best Short Documentary. “My Mother My Friend: Lindsay’s Life Saving Gift”, was a 2019 nominee for the Heartland Emmy for Outstanding Human Interest Special. In 2018, “Felix” won the Audience Choice Award for Best Short Documentary at Woods Hole Film Festival and at Mountainfilm in Aspen.

Chelsea graduated from The College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan with a bachelor’s degree in Entertainment Arts. She has edited dozens of documentary-centric short films for clients such as National Geographic, Gaia Herbs, Greenpeace, Sierra Designs, Unreasonable, Outdoor Industry Association, and many more. Some common threads through this work and Chelsea’s passion projects are a celebration of community, education, well-being, wilderness and wildlife, science, and the value of time spent outdoors.
