Johnny is a bilingual Director, Producer, and Editor originally from Nashville, Tennessee now residing in the DC area. As an MFA graduate from Montana State Universities Science and Natural History Filmmaking program, he has been making short documentaries for five years. After eight years in the military including two combat deployments with a camera always by his side, Johnny was inspired to take his passion for the visual arts into documentary storytelling form and has won numerous awards for his unique style and presentation on controversial issues with three films and was invited as a Fellow at the International Wildlife Film Festival in 2022 for his short film Sonora. In addition to his documentary work, Johnny has also worked in video science communication including two internships at NASA Goddard with the Hubble Communications Team, doing video for wildland fire crews on Indian Reservations across the West, and currently doing video for NOAA Fisheries.
