Synopsis
Japan’s northern island, Hokkaido is a paradise for wild birds. Some endangered species of large birds there have benefited from conservation efforts over the past few decades, but new threats are putting that progress at risk. Diseases and collisions with vehicles, power lines, and wind turbines are just some of the challenges the birds face. This documentary shows how veterinarians and researchers are developing initiatives to help the birds grow in number.
